When you’re in a collision, damage to your vehicle isn’t the only thing we’ll cover.

Costs sustained due to injury, lost salary or many other expenses are covered when you buy an SGI CANADA Auto Pak. Even if you’re not at-fault, if the other driver doesn’t have sufficient insurance, you and your family will be covered.

All Saskatchewan residents get basic injury coverage. Auto Pak has different features, depending on whether you have chosen No Fault or Tort coverage. For detailed information on each of these insurance types and their differences, visit SGI’s personal auto injury insurance page.

No Fault

The following is your coverage if you’ve chosen No Fault:

Educational allowance

Pays up to an additional 50% in excess of the basic injury insurance coverage.

Funeral expenses

Pays up to an additional 50% for actual expenses over the basic injury insurance amount.

Income benefits

If you are unable to go back to work for a period of time, Auto Pak policy pays the 10% of net income not covered under No Fault coverage, plus any net income in excess of basic injury insurance. It also matches third-party liability limits up to $2 million.

Spousal death benefits

Pays any additional amounts required to bring the total spousal death benefit up to half of the deceased victim’s net income and 5% of net income for each dependant. The benefit is payable until the surviving spouse’s death.

Tort

The following is your coverage if you’ve chosen Tort:

Funeral expenses

Pays to an additional 50% for actual expenses over the basic injury insurance amount.

Income benefits

If you are unable to go back to work for a period of time, Auto Pak policy pays an additional 25% of the weekly income benefit covered by the basic injury insurance.

Spousal death benefits

Pays any additional amounts required to bring the total spousal death benefit up to 50% of the deceased victim’s net income, to the maximum net income allowed under basic injury insurance. It also pays an additional benefit to the surviving spouse, bringing the payments up to 5% of the deceased victim’s net income for each dependant. The benefit is paid until the surviving spouse’s death.
