Options to meet your special needs

Identity Theft Coverage

For an additional premium the basic cover limit can be increased. This is available for all Pak types.

Homeowner’s Guarantee

When you qualify for this option, SGI CANADA will guarantee repair or replacement of your dwelling and outbuildings on their original site with materials of similar type and quality – even if the cost exceeds the amount of your insurance.

You also receive these benefits:

  1. 100% single amount of protection – You are entitled to receive up to 100% of the amount your home is insured for to cover your belongings, increased living expenses, lost rental income and mass evacuation.
  2. Mortgage protection – If you’re forced to remortgage due to your loss, SGI CANADA will cover any difference between your old and new rate for the remaining mortgage term.
  3. Building code/bylaw expenses – You’re covered for the extra expense of rebuilding to meet current building codes, as long as local laws allow you to rebuild at the same location.

Increased Limits Coverage

This option allows you to increase limits of insurance for property with specific amounts of protection, such as jewelry. This option also provides for $3 million in personal liability coverage and enhanced limits for voluntary medical payments and voluntary property damage payments.

Glass deductible buydown

For an additional premium, the deductible for glass breakage can be reduced to $25. This is available for Home Paks I, B, II or III only.

Sewer backup coverage

This coverage is available for an additional premium (subject to some restrictions).

Voluntary Fire Fighting Coverage

The basic limits can be increased for an additional premium.

Special belongings coverage

You may require extra protection on special items like furs, jewelry, artwork, coin and stamp collections, musical instruments and bicycles. Your SGI CANADA broker can advise you.

Seasonal home coverage

You can add protection for your summer cabin or other seasonal dwelling and its belongings to your SGI CANADA Home Pak. Guaranteed replacement cost coverage is available at no additional charge on your seasonal dwelling (subject to some restrictions).

Rental home coverage

This option allows you to add protection for up to 6 rental homes you own and rent to others.

Watercraft coverage

Boats, motors, personal watercraft and their equipment can also be protected.
