Complaint resolution process

Our commitment

Your satisfaction is our goal. In order to ensure that you’re being treated in a respectful, fair manner, we have a complaint process in place.

  1. Your broker

    Please talk with your broker about your concern. Your broker will then discuss the matter with us and assist in finding a resolution.

  2. Alberta Complaint Liaison Officer

    If your broker is not able to resolve the issue, you may contact our Alberta Complaint Liaison Officer.

  3. General Insurance Ombudservice

    If the issue is not resolved, you may then contact the General Insurance Ombudservice.

    The General Insurance Ombudservice (GIO) is an independent not-for-profit corporation that has been in operation since 2002, providing dispute resolution services for conflicts between complainants and their insurers in the areas of home, automobile and business insurance. GIO’s neutral and professional mediators and experienced information officers help complainants and insurance companies work toward a solution that is in the best interests of both parties; in a fair, independent and impartial environment.
