Premium discounts
You may be able to reduce your auto premiums and get additional insurance coverage at no additional cost if you:
- have a policy insured with SGI CANADA Insurance Services Ltd. or with your broker for three years or more and remain free of any at-fault accidents
- have more personal use vehicles than drivers in the household
- insure both your home and automobile with SGI CANADA Insurance Services Ltd.
- insure more than one private passenger vehicle with SGI CANADA Insurance Services Ltd.
- are age 36-75
Insurance package options
- Increase your liability coverage from the mandatory minimum of $200,000 to $1 million or $2 million. Limits as high as $5 million may also be available in some circumstances.
- Collision coverage providing protection for losses resulting from a collision with another object or by an upset, such as a rollover.
- Comprehensive coverage from any peril, except a collision with another object or by upset.
- Coverage for specific perils, such as fire, lightning, theft or attempted theft, windstorm, earthquake, hail, explosion, riot, falling or forced landing of an aircraft or its parts, rising water or damage to your vehicle while being transported on land or water.
- Coverage for the cost of extra expenses incurred by the policyholder for such things as the rental of a substitute automobile, taxi fares or fares for any other means of public transportation as a result of an insured peril.
- Limited depreciation coverage for a new vehicle, which means SGI CANADA Insurance Services Ltd. will cover the full amount you paid for a new vehicle for up to 30 months if the vehicle is damaged in an accident and is not repairable.
- Liability for non-owned automobile damage, which provides coverage on rental vehicles, eliminating the need to purchase costly insurance from rental agencies.
