Life is good for SGI CANADA's photo contest winners

Taking a winning photo was a snap for the 13 contest winners of SGI CANADA's 2012 "It's a good life" brokers' calendar.

The cross-Canada amateur photography contest ran in June and July and asked for entries capturing how wonderful life is. There were 421 photos submitted by 237 people.

"Protecting what makes our customer' lives great is one of the best things about being an insurance provider, and that's why we chose "It's a good life," as this year's calendar theme," said SGI CANADA President and CEO Andrew Cartmell. "We thought amateur photographs capturing and sharing moments of a good life would let us all reflect on these moments and appreciate them."

SGI CANADA brokers voted on the photographs, selecting the following winners:

• Joslin Freeman; Imperial, Sask.

• Nina Henry; Saskatoon, Sask.
• Wanda Knoss; Rockglen, Sask.
• Matt Labrador; Elispogtog First Nation, N.B.
• Erin Leontowicz; Saskatoon, Sask.
• John Charles Mundo; Regina, Sask.
• Sarah Powell; Oakville, Ont.

"I didn't expect to win so I was really excited when I found out. I thought my photo captured a great moment and the feeling of freedom," said Sarah Powell of Oakville, Ontario, a winner who submitted a dramatic photo of a carousel swing in action.

"I love photographing landscapes and flowers and think the crocus shows how wonderful spring is on the Prairies," said Wanda Knoss from Rockglen, Saskatchewan.
